In this work, Berdan examines the situation in Russia in its first volume, and in China in the second—focusing on the development of socialism and its socialist foundation, as well as its position under current conditions. This first volume, which deals with Russia, also contains the theoretical groundwork, and therefore makes up the larger part of the study in terms of volume.
